Trumbull Patch: Tashua School Drive Open Through Saturday

Last Saturday the Tashua Elementary GoGreen Committee and Second Chance Toys kicked-off their third annual Used Toy Drive in the Trumbull Town Hall parking lot.  Second Chance Toys is an organization that promotes keeping plastic toys out of landfills/incinerators by donating them to children in need.

With the help of State Representatives Tony Hwang (R-134) and Dave Rutigliano (R-123), who both showed up to donate and load toys, the GoGreen Committee collected 444-gently used toys, which were transported and donated to Community Closet.  Community Closet serves low-income families in Bridgeport, CT with access to free household essentials.  During the holidays, used toys are in great demand.  1-800-GOT-JUNK of Stratford donated the truck that transported the toys to Bridgeport.
